MARCH 2/ 3 (Friday Night Coaching Clinic)
is a grassroots program that teaches male and female athletes, of all ages, the fundamental movement skills of hitting. Over the weekend the CANhit Instructor introduces a step by step drill progression that leads to the full swing. It has been developed in joint effort using research and experience from University Coaches along with Softball Canada’s hitting coach.
The aim of this clinic is to teach youth, ages 8-19, how to hit consistently, and to train coaches to teach these same skills.
With increased hitting skills this will equal more hits and provide a more active game. For the more advanced hitter the clinic will refine their skills and enable them to take it to the next level.
In addition to players, we encourage local coaches to join in the clinics to learn the CANhit progression of hitting so they can support their players during the season. We are offering a coaching clinic on the Friday evening. The coaches will be taught the training steps used in the clinic and then will be given the opportunity to solidify their knowledge by volunteering to help the instructor with the clinic. By training more coaches the steps to fundamental hitting we hope to increase the understanding of the hitting technique and create a common teaching language.
CANhit is an action-packed program and participants MUST come prepared for activity. Participants MUST have the following to participate:
1. Bat (batting gloves recommended)
