What is the Baseball BC High Performance program?

The various High-Performance open identification camps are held to allow all of the players that are interested, to be evaluated using the criteria that are used by college recruiters and Major League Baseball in evaluating the talent of players.   These camps are staffed by Baseball B.C. staff and senior coaching staff that work with MLB teams.

All players who wish to be considered for the Baseball BC High-Performance teams including the Selects program (17U),  Pacific Northwest Championship (17U, 16U, 15U), or the Northwest Futures Tournament (15U), must attend one of the ID camps and be evaluated as well as attend one of the Provincial Camps.

If a prospective player is evaluated and does well at the ID camp, there are some camps and opportunities for that player within the high performance program if he is selected for them. Some of these programs include: Prospects camp, Selects Camp, PNC championships.

  • Prospects camp is for grade 8-10 athletes and is a 3 day camp that focuses on development along with some more evaluation. We have coaches from across the province work with the athletes on all aspects of the game in a developmental system. From the Prospects we select 3 teams; Grade 8, Grade 9, and Grade 10 team to represent Team BC at the PNC Championships in Washington against teams from Washington, Oregon and Idaho.
  • The Selects Camp is for Grade 10 and 11 players. This 4 day camp is for the best players in the province at that age group. We make 1 select team and send them to the Canada Games this year in Winnipeg.

Information on the Baseball BC HP program can be found on the website: Dates for all of the camps and championships are still TBD.
